Il 16 novembre del 1968, moriva Billy Adams.
Adams arrivò a Flagstaff nel 1920, divenendo poco dopo il primo proprietario di una fattoria a Winona.
Aprì lì un campeggio per turisti nel 1924 e lo gestì fino al 1946, proprio quando Winona stava diventando famosa per essere stata inclusa nella canzone “Route 66”.

In realtà Winona non è mai stata una città, ma curiosamente faceva rima con Arizona e Bobby Troup decise di inserirla all’interno della sua canzone:
